Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The performance of detection and tracking systems greatly depends on the quality of its information sources. In general, occlusions and the sheer number of objects pose challenges to most appearance-based human detectors and data association algorithms used for tracking. Recent works based on feature point tracking and clustering have already begun to use motion information to segment independent objects, which are less computationally expensive. However, the frequently used Lucas-Kanade feature point tracker has limited accuracy; and tracking capability of these systems is not well defined. We now propose the use of Farneback optical flow to increase the reliability of feature point trackers. In addition, we also associate clustering results temporally by making use of the tracker's continuity.
