Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It has been reported that in Japan there are 4.6 million patients with dementia, 4 million people in a pre-dementia group in which we see a drop in cognitive functions. However, most patients cannot receive enough care because of lack of care givers. We propose an autonomous robot which can keep and manage various kinds of daily necessities from dementia patients who have a delusion for a lapse of memory. Our robot can follow the patients and recognize/manage their daily necessities by using mounted cameras and pressure sensors which are equipped with on storing pockets. In addition, our robot can detect their objects which are left behind, and call for attention to the patients. We conduct impression evaluation experiments of calling for attention to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
