Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since 2000, one of the phenomena that symbolizes Japanese urban housing is "narrow houses." For planning narrow site houses, one of the most important issues is to pursue "habitability" in a narrow, complicated site condition. In previous research, windows affect the impression of the residential environment that consists of breadth, openness, comfort, and complexity. In this paper, in order to clarify the effect of windows of a living room, we performed two experiments using virtual environment and 1/6 scale-model to compare.
