Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Experiments were carried out to clarify the influence of closed contact current on various characteristics, such as arc duration, contact resistance, arc energy and electrode mass change. The source voltages is DC-100V, closed contact current are changed from 5 to 25A, and an electromagnetic contactor is operated continuously up to 100,000 times at the condition of only break arc. As a result, the contact resistance has become small atlarge closed contact current. When the current is large, arc duration is long and arc energy is large. In addition, the electrode mass change per unit arc energy of fixed electrode is different according to the polarity of electrode. The anode side almost becomes constant, but cathode side decreases with an increase in the closed contact current.
