Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since human movements are affected by a musculoskeletal system, it can not be determined that whether the synergy is formed by motor commands or a property of the musculoskeletal system. First, we focused on a signal dependent noise as the property of the musculoskeletal system, and showed that the signal dependent noise formed a coordination of muscle tensions in simulation experiments. Second, we proposed a method to evaluate a coordination of motor commands removing an effect of the signal dependent noise and using a framework of UCM analysis. We considered a total elbow joint torque production task with redundant muscle tensions. Using a coefficient of variation of each muscle, the variability of muscle tensions across trials was converted so as to be distributed according to signal independent mixture gaussian distribution. Then the UCM analysis was applied to calculate the normalized index of synergy. In measurement experiments, normalized index of synergy showed that the subjects coordinated motor commands. Moreover, the proposed method was applied to learning task, and showed that a large part of the change of synergy through learning was the change of synergy of motor command.
