Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Caenorhabditis elegans has 302 neurons. All of their connections was revealed by electronmicroscopy. And almost all the properties of the neural connections, being excitatory or inhibitory, have not been analyzed. Computer simulation to reconstruct the behavior responding to the environmental chemical stimuli was performed to obtain the properties of the neural connections. The behaviors for the reconstruction were forward movement, short reversal, long reversal and omega turn. Connection weights in the neural network were obtained by genetic algorithm. Comparing the connection properties obtained by the genetic algorithm to the prediction based on the behavioral experiment, more than half of the connections shared with the simulation and the experiment matched.
