Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The extremely weak radio band at 10 - 60 MHz is a promising candidate of physical layer for implant body area networks (BAN). In contrast to medical implant communication service (MICS) band at 400 MHz, the 10 - 60 MHz band enables to communicate between the depths and the surface of the human body. Moreover, the use of wideband impulse radio (IR) modulation makes it possible to communicate with high speed and low power consumption. In this study, we developed an impulse radio on off keying (IR-OOK) receiver using register transfer level (RTL) design tool, and evaluated the bit error rate (BER) performance of the receiver with a biological-equivalent liquid phantom. The experiment results demonstrate the feasibility of high speed communication at 9.6 Mbps.
