Position Estimation of Capsule Endoscope using Genetic Algorithms

Abstract(in English) Body area networks (BANs) are attracting great attention as a future technology of wireless networks. Capsule endoscope is one example of implant BAN applications, which is used to take images of digestive tract. To improve the performance of capsule endoscope, it is important to add location imformation to the image data. So we focused on a position estimation method using scattered electric fields that are generated upon irradiated electric field on the human body. However, this method needs huge computational complexity to calculate scattered electric fields. Therefore, in this study, we try to apply genetic algorithms into this method to reduce the computational complexity of the localization in complex structure of the human body.
