Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A disaster prevention broadcasting method has been proposed based on audio data hiding using complete complementary codes. In the proposed system, disaster information is embedded into siren sound, which can deliver such information to everyone quickly and exactly even without any wifi connections or consumer communication networks. However, it is difficult to extract all the embedded information correctly since audio signals are attenuated and deteriorated by noise through an analog communication channel. In this study, error correcting codes (ECC) are applied into the proposed disaster prevention broadcasting system in order to improve the bit error rate performances at the receiver side under the low signal-to-noise ratio. The effectiveness of ECC are evaluated through numerical simulations and the experiment using a loud speaker and a microphone under the indoor scenario.
