Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have researched about the gesture interfaces for persons with motor dysfunction that could not use normal interface switches. The users have cerebral palsy, quadriplegia, or traumatic brain injury, and have involuntary movement, spasticity and so on. The purpose is providing these users with the easy and low-priced interfaces for operating PCs. To realize the low-priced interface, we utilize the image range sensor on the market, and develop the non-contact and non-constraint interface. For this purpose, we have collected various gestures of many persons with motor dysfunction, and classified voluntary movements based on the body part. We have developed basic recognition modules for each body part and tried the basic long-term experiments. We described the real data collections and classifications, and the long-term experiment.
