Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an improvement of lung shape estimation using a statistical shape model for the purpose of lung segmentation from a postmortem CT volume. Specifically we propose a new evaluation value for shape estimation which assesses the relationship between lung and its neighboring organs, or liver and body cavity. We present a shape estimation process that predicts a lung shape based on the proposed evaluation value after classifying rough lung segmentation results. This paper shows the results of applying the proposed method to 32 postmortem CT volumes and proves the superiority of the proposed method against the existing method.
