Abstract(in English) Here we describe the detection or the volume measurement that paid attention to plural diseases (cardiomegaly, pleural fluid, compressive atelectasis, pleural mesothelioma) and suggest a computer aided diagnosis system displaying an aim domain quantitatively from chest CT images. Quantification enables numerical assessment of the progress of the disease condition and of treatment. This study assumes it a main purpose for the development of the computer aided diagnosis (CAD) technology along the demand of the doctor. I suggest the CAD system which paid its attention to cardiopulmonary disease that the demand from a clinician was high in a group meeting of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The results of verification using patient data suggested the effectiveness of quantitative measurement using this method.
