Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a directivity control method for a spherical loudspeaker array. The beam pattern of the spherical loudspeaker array with filter coefficients designed considering a spherical harmonic expansion has a high directivity not only in the target direction but also in the opposite side. This phenomenon is attributed to the filter that, by using the spherical harmonic expansion, produces only the simple radiation pattern. On the other hand, designing the filter by using the minimum variance (MV) beamformer method in coordinates is also possible in order to avoid the unwanted high sidelobes in the opposite directions. However, if the beam pattern is rotated in an arbitrary direction, the filter needs to be redesigned for all the directions. To overcome this problem, we investigated the MV method in spherical harmonics domains. The typical filter calculated by this method can be easily transformed into a filter at other angles while avoiding the unwanted high sidelobes.
