Abstract(in English) | In general, a noise suppression using a single microphone needs signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in each time-frequency point, and calculation of SNR requires prior estimation of a noise. A noise estimation is performed based on the result of voice activity detection (VAD) or a processing similar to the VAD, such as calculation of speech presence probability, therefore the accuracy of VAD is crucially important. In this paper, the organized noise scene analysis (ONSA) is proposed. ONSA estimates a noise, SNR and a voice activity period by exchanging information on them each other. The proposal method applies to the simple VAD, which achieves performance equivalent compared with the conventional method standardized in ETSI. |
