Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a wireless local area network over densely-scattered small cells with 3G-LTE protocol and discusses hand over procedures for it. This network contributes to integration of existing telephones and computer communication network allowing simplified wiring, and offering more enhanced services in a campus. It serves not only its own users but also visitors. Considering use of millimeter waves for the network, cell size is at largest 10m radius, and this requests quick handover since handover happens frequently, though UE (User Equipment) moves at walking speed, hi millimeter wave MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) cell, conventional handover procedures in which the old base station request handover to the target base station cannot be applied, since radio power drops sharply at cell edge. So, the target UE directly triggers handover to the target base station with SR (Schedule Request) signal on PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control CHannel), and this method allows quick handover.. To achieve this, all base stations are synchronously orated under a clock of PON (Passive Optical Network) for backhaul network. Furthermore, before handover, SR code should be notified to the target UE, and UE's ID and downward packets should be stored in each target base station. In case of trying the reduction of these reservation to save resources, packet pre-storage is at least necessary.
