Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to cope with explosively increasing traffic, license-assisted access (LAA) is being studied in the third generation partnership project (3GPP) release 13. In LAA operation, an important scope is that long term evolution (LTE) is operated in unlicensed bands such as 5 GHz with assistance from LTE in license bands. However, in unlicensed band, other wireless system such as wireless local area network (WLAN) has already been deployed. Therefore, one of the most important issues is that LAA system can co-exist with WLAN system so that LAA does not degrades WLAN performances in LAA-WLAN coexistence case in comparison to WLAN-WLAN coexistence case. In the WLAN which can be operated in unlicensed band, a carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) is employed as a listen-before talk (LET) to fairly co-exist with other WLAN nodes and satisfy regulations for companies. In that sense, LAA evolved node B (eNB) or user equipment (UE) should apply a LBE. Therefore, in this paper, we study two kind of LET accommodated to a design of LTE physical layer using system level simulation assuming only donwlink (DL) transmission is operated in the unlicensed band. Computer simulation confirms no impact of LAA on WLAN and significant improvement of LAA performance compared with WLAN performance.
