Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) 5G cellular/wireless networks are expected to bring 1000x increase in data rates, but only 10x increase in subscriber capacity. Even with the microcells that offload traffic from base stations as well as switching to the more efficient frequency multiplex, there is a hard physical limit to the number of subscribers. This paper formulates this problem through a practical scenario where content has to be (continuously) streamed to massive (100k) crowds at an Olympics stadium. The solution is modeled as a number of hybrid designs where wireless P2P delivery extends the 5G infrastructure. The model aims at Tokyo 2020 Olympics by modeling the main location of the event.
