Outage Capacity of a Two-User Interference Channel for Simultaneous Information and Energy Transfer

Abstract(in English) Wireless energy transfer is attracting more attention. A two-user interference channel for simultaneous information and energy transfer includes an ID (Information Decoding)-mode receiver for receiving information, an EH (Energy Harvest)-mode receiver for harvesting the radio frequency energy and two transmitters corresponded to the receiving modes. Previous researches revealed the rate-power trade-off when the ID-mode receiver regards radio wave from the EH-mode transmitter as noise. In this study, we clarify that the ID-mode receiver is able to remove the radio wave from the EH-mode transmitter by assuming that the ID-mode receiver knows transmitting signal from the EH-mode transmitter, and that there is no trade-off between rate and power. Then, we calculate outage capacity guaranteeing received power of the EH-mode receiver by regarding communication between the ID-mode transmitter and the ID-mode receiver as one-to-one communication.
