Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) According to radio channel conditions, the adaptive system changes modulation, coding, or power dynamically. The exact estimation of channel SNR is important in the adaptive system. In this paper, the new methods of maximum likelihood estimation are presented for SNR by using the probability density function (pdf) of envelope of received signals. The methods work in unknown signal power conditions, and don't require the carrier synchronization. The estimation accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated by normalized mean square error (NMSE).
