Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Existing rate adaptation mechanisms (RAs) are basically targeted for selecting the best transmission rate at indoor environments. As a result, RA in mobile environments, such as in Vehicular to Infrastructure communication, is more challenging due to frequently changing of channel quality. In this paper, we evaluate existing RAs in mobile environments using a simulator, and disclose the RAs' problems. We also present Rate Adaptation with Dataset (RAD) for selecting the appropriate data rate in mobile environments. Finally, we show that RAD outperforms other existing RAs in FTP/CBR communication.
