Web cache placement policy for wireless mesh networks considering content access locality seen in expositions

Abstract(in English) When a large-scale exposition (e.g. comic market) is held, a huge number of participants tend to download the contents related to exhibits from Web, causing severe degradation of downlink speed per user at the cellular network. To solve this problem, it would be effective to install the wireless mesh network in the place of the exposition which is connected to the interne access line and to let the participants to use this network. Since the topics they are interested are similar with each other and they tend to download the similar contents, providing the content cache in each AP of the wireless mesh network will lead to the increase of the download speed. In this case, we need to take account the content access tendency in which some contents are accessed with considerable frequency by the terminals connected to an AP at an exhibition booth related to the contents. In this paper, based on the aforementioned assumption we propose a novel cache replacement policy considering content access locality and shown its benefits in increasing users' throughput by computer simulation.
