Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a new GIF animation production method which is based on an adaptive color quantization method and a vector error diffusion method. In this method, the adaptive color quantization method is realized by combining a normal median cut and a weighted median cut algorithms. The vector error diffusion method is used to a brief color reduction before the color quantization and to colorization of the image by using colors including in the pallet produced by the adaptive color quantization method. In the experiment, in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, some GIF animations produced by the proposed method are evaluated by comparing with GIF animations produced by the conventional methods.
