Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ad hoc networks, frequent packet losses and topological changes cause unstable communications. To solve this problem, OR (opportunistic routing) has been proposed. In OR, each terminal decides whether to forward a received packet based on a random backoff time. However, forwarder terminals must wait for the expiration of the random backoff timer before forwarding the packet. Moreover, it is difficult to obtain a transmission path diversity under a sparse environment. This paper proposes a forwarder selection method that uses the prioritized forwarders to reduce the backoff time. In addition, the proposed method also performs a retransmission control which is fit for the sparse environment. The performance and the effectiveness of the proposed method are clarified by computer simulation.
