Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A detection method for printing defect of dot-matrix character which is used to describe the quality information of the product. Currently, the printing inspection devices have been commercialized by several companies. However, those devices need user inputs such as fonts of dot-matrix character manually in advance, usability can be improved. Therefore, this method trains the generated characters, classify the printing defect detection by SVM using the likelihood obtained from the gradient feature and Modified Quadratic Discriminant Function. In this approach, it is possible to conduct recognition and detection of printing defect simultaneously. The result of the classification experiment correct or defect using line missing dot-matrix character as defect character, the classification accuracy is 99.61%.
