Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an upgraded Laser Radar Visible Light Bidirectional Communication Boomerang System (LRVLB-ComBo) for reliable ranging and bidirectional vehicle-to-vehicle communications. Our original LRVLBS combined automotive laser radar with visible light boomerang systems. The refined LRVLB-ComBo synchronously gauges distance for ranging plus establishes detailed bidirectional vehicle-to-vehicle communication. In the ComBo approach Vehicle A applies LRVLBS to communicate to vehicle B in front. Vehicle B requests a particular time-hopping pattern establishing two-way communication. Vehicle A complies, sending its data using B's requested pattern. Simulation results demonstrate that even subject to diverse interference our bidirectional ComBo approach enables enhanced bidirectional vehicle-to-vehicle communication for ITS precision and safety.
