Abstract(in English) | Structural design verification becomes critical under the situation in which an observation performance of spacecraft is extremely required and, hence, the interdisciplinary investigations are needed to solve technical difficulties in the structural design. In this paper, a conceptual study was summarized for a structural design verification technique using fiber optic sensors especially for thermal strain measurement. A concept of sensor-integrated space structures was included in this study. In addition, a reduction of thermally induced drift of an interferometric fiber optic gyroscope (I-FOG), which is currently under development by JAXA, was discussed as an example of the precise structural design. |
