Abstract(in English) We have developed a medical image registration method for comparing lung nodules' temporal changes. Doctors typically compare images side-by-side to check nodules' temporal changes. Our method can realize an image registration with high accuracy for images in which position of each nodule is changed by breathing and heartbeat. In order to achieve a performance enough for practical use, the registration error should be less than 2.5 mm, which is our target accuracy. The result of comparative evaluation of the existing method and the proposed method on the basis of 12 cases showed that the achievement rate for the target accuracy were improved by our method from 33% (4/12 cases) to 83% (10/12 cases).
