Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Area of eye contact perception is defined as a gaze destination area of a person feels that there is an eye contact with another person. The size of the area is not only varied between individuals but also might be varied within an individual. This paper aims to study the effect of the existence of the peers and the distance of them toward the area. We conducted the experiment, in which an experimenter gazed toward two participants and they answered whether the experimenter gazed at their eyes or not. We expected area of eye contact perception would be smaller in short distance condition, however the hypothesis is not supported.
