Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Previous studies pointed that Japanese caregivers tend to omit case makers when they talk to infants. However, the data that indicate the indication is consist of talking data talked by a few caregivers. In addition, the recording condition wasn't controlled because all data were recorded during free-play. Thus, it is questionable that the indications that caregivers omit case makers in IDS can be generalize to all Japanese caregivers. And, as a result of it, individual differences get overlooked. We therefore examined that caregivers of 2-year-olds really omit case makers when they talk to their children more frequently than they talk to the adult in controlled recording condition. The results of analysis revealed that, as previous studies indicated, Japanese caregivers tended to omit case makers in IDS. And new finding is that what extent the caregivers omit case makers in IDS vary a great deal. These findings may provide important suggestion to the examinations of effects of parental language input to the language development of their children.
