Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to create a robot that can behave as a conversational participant and join multiparty conversations, displaying proper gaze behaviors is indispensable. This study, first, analyzed human conversations, and showed that human gaze behaviors are different depending on the participation roles (speaker, addressee, side participant) and the dominance. Then, using the analysis results as gaze behavior models, we implemented them into a humanoid robot, and built a robot that can automatically decide its gaze behaviors according to the participation roles and the dominance.
