| 抄録(和) | コンピュータや情報通信環境のユビキタスによって進行するグローバル化の時代は,コミュニケーション推進主義と表裏一体の時代でもある.殊に理工系技術者がコミュニケーション能力を有することの重要性が認識され,非英語圏においては英語によるコミュニケーション能力の育成を緊急課題とする提言も多い.しかし,社会性やコミュニケーション能力の脆弱性の目立つ人口が急増しつつあるといわれる昨今の状況と,整合性のある提言であるかどうかは議論の余地がある.本稿では,コミュニケーション推進主義とコミュニケーションの脆弱性との間の乖離を巡る現象を考察する.更に,理工系学生の気質的傾向に関する実態調査に基づき,効果的な英語教育の方法とコミュニケーション能力開発との接点を探る. |
| 抄録(英) | The current wave of globalization aided by ubiquitous computing necessarily involves communication-driven interaction and integration among people and human institutions worldwide. Professionals in science and technology, in particular, are expected to have effective communication skills, using English as a global lingua franca. This paper raises an undiscussed issue of a gap between the demand for effective communication skills and the communication vulnerability of those expected to be effective communicators. Based on a survey on temperamental tendencies of university students, the paper suggests a way to develop effective English education curriculum which can be expected to sprout general communication skills development. |
