Model selection of early vision system of Drosophila melanogaster II

Abstract(in English) Motion detection cell models of fly's early visual system have been proposed. Several models dealing with functions of LI and L2 pathway in fly's visual ganglia have also been proposed. Here we focused on following these three models, 4D model consisting of four correlation-type models and positive-and-negative-wave rectifiers, 2D model consisting of two correlation-type models and the rectifiers and 6D model consisting of six correlation-type models and the rectifiers. In this study, using electrophysiological data obtained from Lobula Prate Tangential Cells(LPTCs) in response to visual stimuli with various ambiguities, we estimated generalization errors of the above three models by cross-validation method. Consequently, we found that the generalization error of 2D model was smaller than the others.
