Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a digital circuit design of pulse-coupled phase oscillator networks and apply it to a region-based Markov random field (MRF) model. The proposed circuit is described with parameterized Verilog-HDL and can change the calculation accuracy, the shape of the internal function of oscillators, the network size and interaction between oscillators by parameters. This function enables us to emulate various types of large-scaled pulse-coupled phase oscillator networks toward implementation of special purpose LSIs. Experimental results of logic simulation have shown that the proposed circuit emulates spike-based phenomena such as in-/ anti-phase synchronization. In addition, we have implemented the region-based MRF model by employing the proposed circuit and applied it to region segmentation of two-dimensional signals.
