Abstract(in English) Firstly, backgrounds how the SID was established and a florescent vacuum display was invented in Japan are introduced. Next, stories on liquid crystal TVs and plasma TVs developed by Japan are described. Finally, the circumstance and the decline of market share of Japan in spite of the inventions and the developments by Japan are considered.
