Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Lens of the human eye, cloudiness is increased with the age. It is called cataract in severe cases. Cloudiness of the lens causes a reduction in visual acuity in low light and affects the glare to the light source. As a result, when different in cloudiness subject to the readability evaluation of presented display the same content, there is a case in which evaluation is different. In this study, it was evaluated experiments on readability of three types of device (e-paper, LCD and paper). Subjects were 98 patients (18-86 years of age). Using the VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) to evaluate, illuminance was set 14 stages. In the light-emitting display, under low illuminance, high cloudiness of the subjects of readability evaluation was significantly lower than the subjects of low cloudiness. In non-emissive displays and paper, under high illuminance, readability evaluation of medium cloudiness subjects were slightly higher evaluation than the subject of low cloudiness.
