Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) EM-parameters-measurement techniques play very important role in material developments. Due to the advantages such as broadband, wide-compatibility, open-structure, etc., open-ended-coaxial-probe-based techniques have been treated as one of the most potential methods for the simultaneous and nondestructive characterization of complex permittivity and permeability of high loss materials. This report discusses a new method, named "Two-Probe-Method" as well as the uncertainty analysis procedure. First, Spectral-Domain-Immittance(SDI) approach is used to model the measurement structure. Secondly, after the derivation of the uncertainty equations, the relationship between measurement uncertainties and the electrical thickness of the material under test and operation frequency is investigated as well as the influence of the combination of the probes to the measurement uncertainties. The broadband frequency-swept measurement/simulation has been conducted on a typical absorbing material using APC-7 and 3.5mm coaxial probes. The experimental results agree with the reference data, while the newly-derived uncertainty formulae make a good estimation on the tread of the measurement errors, which validates the feasibility and effectiveness of this improved technique.
