Cloud on the road : an autonomic computing framework in vehicular environment

Abstract(in English) With the new DSRC standard for vehicular networks, more network depending services are possible in vehicular environment. Cloud computing is one of those services that can boost the information processing performance of vehicles without raising the cost on hardware, and support various other services in vehicular environment. There are already some attempts in building cloud computing frameworks in vehicular environment. However, most frameworks proposed by now are centralized, which means they rely on the deployment of infrastructures not quite common right now. In this paper, we present a new framework for vehicular cloud computing. In this framework, we utilize the idle resource of vehicles on the road to provide cheap and neighbor service to each other. We also present an distributed and autonomous routing algorithm for the service requests, with overhearing technique and forwarder selecting metric, aiming at reducing flooding packets on the network and balance the workload.
