Joint Resource Allocation and SVC Layer Selection for Video Streaming of VANETs

Abstract(in English) In this research, we target the joint resource allocation and layer selection problem for the video streaming over highway VANET scenario. Regarding to the dynamic environment of VANETs, the scalable video coding (SVC) scheme is introduced to provide multi-scale video contents for different users. We propose an Adaptive Resource allocation and Layer selection with Base layer guarantee (ARLB) algorithm, which explicitly takes account of the location, direction, velocity and buffer level of each vehicle. Simulation results show that our proposed ARLB algorithm outperforms the competing schemes.
