Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) OFDM scheme is widely used for broadband mobile communications. Since it has high PAPR, it is difficult to amplify the OFDM signal with high power efficiency and good linearity. To address these issues, EPWM (Envelope Pulse Width Modulation) transmitter has been proposed. ANC (Amplitude Noise Compensating)-EPWM transmitter that suppresses quantization noise of EPWM has also been proposed and shown to be effective. In this paper, key elements of ANC-EPWM transmitter such as delta-sigma modulator and LPF have been designed for FPGA implementation. The implemented ANC-EPWM transmitter can generate OFDM signals with a 10-MHz carrier bandwidth, the IEEE 802.11p and LTE. Measured performance for these OFDM signals are close to the simulated results.
