Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents beam adjustable microstrip antenna arrays (BA-MSAAs) with narrow-width elements. The BA-MSAA consists of a microstrip antenna (MSA) and two parasitic MSAs with a variable reactance circuit (VRC) arranged at the both sides. The radiation pattern of the BA-MSAA can be changed by the reactance of the controlled by the VRC. Firstly, in order to miniaturize the BA-MSAA as well as to improve the gain, a three-element BA-MSAA with narrow-width elements is proposed. Furthermore, in order to enhance the beam-shaping performance of the three-element BA-MSAA, a seven-element BA-MSAA with four additional parasitic narrow-width elements arranged at the both sides of the two parasitic elements of the three-element BA-MSAA is proposed. The performances of the proposed BA-MSAAs are exhibited by simulation and measurement.
