Asymptotic Distribution of Eigenvalues in Massive MIMO Channel

Abstract(in English) For MIMO performance analysis such as channel capacity and BER, understanding of eigenvalue characteristics of correlation matrices AA^H and A^HA is truly essential. In the next-generation wireless communication systems, a massive MIMO composed of a large number of array elements at one or both ends is expected to be promising to realize higher performance systems. However, for such a large scale MIMO system, eigenvalue analysis based on a conventional way becomes complicated. On the other hand, by an asymptotic way using Marcenko-Pastur law, analysis for massive MIMO channel capacity can be done easily. In this report, by comparing the asymptotic eigenvalue distribution with N×M MIMO case, we show usefulness of Marcenko-Pastur law even if the MIMO is composed of a few number of array elements.
