Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology) has developed an airborne X-band synthetic aperture radar system (Pi-SAR2) that is capable to acquire both polarimetric image data and interferometric image data simultaneously, in very high (30cm) spatial resolution. In 2012 NICT issued the Research Announcement on utilization of the Pi-SAR2data and initiated collaborations with scientists selected, to make observations according to their research proposals. Polarimetric calibration is necessary to correct polarimetric distortion (imbalances and cross-talks) of the radar hardware and consequently to take advantage of the Pi-SAR2 polarimetric data. In this paper we present the results of polarimtric calibration with corner reflectors and natural extended targets in each observation period.
