Multi-hop Wireless Communication System with Forward/Backward Detection and Switching Direction(Technology Exhibit)

Abstract(in English) We construct a multi-hop wireless communication system to which two directional antennas are attached ahead and behind to distinguish a direction of packet arrival and switch a direction of packet transmission. The software defined radio platform called GNU Radio/USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) is used to construct our system. We implement new modules in GNU Radio to utilize the two directional antennas. Additionally, it is possible to experiment in an outdoor environment because we have got a license to emit radio wave. We implement DORP (Direction Oriented Routing Protocol) which is a routing protocol using a direction of a neighbor and destination node and experiment for multi-hop communication on our campus. In technology exhibit, we introduce a mechanism which distinguishes a direction of packet arrival and show an experiment of a multi-hop wireless communication by video.
