Abstract(in English) This paper presents the design and proof-of-concept of a low-cost, rapidly-deployable landslide monitoring system for mountainsides. To reduce costs, the system is designed to utilize used smartphones. To further reduce costs, gathered data are transmitted through ad-hoc communication to eliminate carrier subscription overhead. In this paper, we present the prototype of the system and a routing method that uses the embedded air pressure sensors of the smartphones. Our system has two novelty points. First, we propose the alternating use of two communication interfaces, WiFi-Direct and Bluetooth, to construct an efficient multi-hop network. Second, we propose the use of the broadcasted ambient air pressure values of nodes in routing decision-making, which lessens the metadata exchange overhead of constructing traditional routing tables. In this paper, we present a prototype implementation of our system for Android smartphones. The prototype constructs a multi-hop network by alternately using WiFi-Direct and Bluetooth and demonstrates the distributed routing method by using values from the embedded air pressure sensors of the smartphones.
