Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The focalization is a technique which reconstructs a story structure based on the point of view of a character or a narrator. On the other hand, our "Integrated Narrative Generation System" (INGS) is composed of the three generation phases of story, discourse, and expression. The focalization is positioned as one of "narrative discourse techniques" which transforms a story structure into a discourse structure in the discourse generation phase. In this paper, we describe designs and the partial implementation for finely connecting the focalization mechanism with other elements in INGS. In particular we address the following two issues: 1) Connecting the story generation and the focalization with a bidirectional process and 2) revising the processing manner for flexibly using the focalization mechanism in combination with other discourse techniques.
