Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Color vision is mediated by three types of cone photoreceptors, the L, M and S cones. L and M cones are electrically coupled to neighboring L and/or M cones through these gap junctions. However, the influence of cone electrical coupling and visual information transmission has not been fully elucidated while it may have an effect on vision. We developed a computational model of the cone mosaic based on the physiological and anatomical characteristics. The gap junctions are represented as linear conductance. By using this model, we analyzed functional relation between electrical coupling and visual information processing.
