Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes networked hot spots in which handover interruption is so short as terminals can virtually experience single cell stay in spite of cell-to-cell move. They are supposed to be used in railway stations, hospitals, department store, air ports, etc. Millimeter-wave small cells scaled tens meters spread all over the area of the target. The protocol is 3G-LTE. In addition to private users, there can be public users who are temporary visitors, those who use mobile IP protocol and migrators from mobile network. Communications of the first and seconds is closed in the network and however the third ones request continuity of communications between the proposed network and mobile networks though they are roaming users. The network can be a sensor network since the distance between terminals and base stations is so short. PON (Passive Optical Network) is used as a back haul network aiming at economy and adaptability of the virtual single cell concept which allows short handover interruption by reservation of handover resources in a group of neighboring cells in which the target terminal is at a center cell, and their move following the target. PON can provide accurate clock which allows synchronized operation of all base stations. It leads to direct interruption to the target cell in handover with SR (Schedule Request) of PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel) contributing to short interruption. To try to avoid ineffective reservation before handover, main paths among contiguous cells in the area are linearly set. The grouping of neighboring cells is conducted only along the paths. |
