Abstract(in English) In inter-cluster communications in cluster-based WSNs with spatial non-uniform traffic, child cluster heads (CCHs) with different traffic loads communicate to their parent CH. Therefore, the difference in transmission performance arises among the CCHs. To mitigate the performance difference, we propose traffic adaptive BE control method. The proposed method performs autonomous priority control by adjusting the value of backoff exponent (BE), which is one of control parameters for slotted CSMA/CA. Performance evaluation by computer simulation shows the proposed method mitigates the performance difference among the CCHs with different traffic loads in various spatial non-uniform traffic conditions.
