Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Commercialized in-car laser rangefinders measure target range by time of flight (TOF). These products require high power pulsed laser diode (PLD) or large receiving lens for remote sensing. In this paper, a novel method based on pulse position modulation is proposed, by which the required peak power of laser source or the size of receiving lens can be largely reduced. Especially, if the size of receiving lens is reduced, a compact laser rangefinder would be realized.
