Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Negative impedance converters can provide a negative capacitance and a negative inductance. However, those non-Foster elements also include a resistance as a by-product. This resistance may absorb most of the input energy, leading to establishing a perfect matching in an appearance. This report evaluates both resistance and reactance of the non-Foster elements and proposes two strategies to reduce the resistance by 1) controlling the DC bias voltage and 2) utilizing a negative resistance of the NIC so as to cancel the undesired positive resistance of the non-Foster element.
